KENT Library hosts variety of childrens activities

Cecil Giltz Published:

Children are encouraged to visit Kent Free Library during National Library Week, Sunday through April 12, when special programming includes an author visit, coloring contest and pop-up book demonstration. Sandra Philipson, author of the acclaimed Max and Annie childrens book series, will visit with school-aged children from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Kent Free Library. Her springer spaniels, Max and Annie, will accompany her. Philipson will read from her latest book and share tales about Miracle Dogs, a Max and Annie movie soon to be shown on the Animal Planet cable channel. A childrens coloring contest will continue through April 12 with prizes being awarded in three age categories and all artwork being displayed throughout National Library Week. Coloring sheets are available from the childrens librarian. A librarian will show children how pop-up books are constructed and offer them an opportunity to create their own from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Advance registration is required. To reserve a space at either event, call (330) 673-4414. For additional information on National Library Week, call (330) 673-4414.
