The Streetsboro Quilters Guild, using the theme of Ohios bicentennial celebration, made a quilt for the first baby born at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna on National Quilt Day, which was celebrated on March 15. Gathering to admire the special gift are, seated, new parents Eric Besmen of Streetsboro and Jennifer Scherler of Ravenna, with baby Paige; and standing, from left, Heinke Klassen, guild member; Fran Evans, nurse; and Alisha Bostic, guild member. Blocks used for the construction of the quilt in colors of bright red, blue and white, include the Ohio star block representing the state, and the log cabin block representing the heart of the home.
