RAVENNA Friends, family honor Catherine Pamer, 100

Five generations of Catherine Pamers family joined her at the Woodlands at Robinson in Ravenna on Saturday for a family dinner celebration honoring her 100th birthday. The celebration was hosted by Mrs. Pamers daughters, Margaret Ulrich of Palmyra and Catherine T. Pamer of Ravenna, and her three grandchildren. Special guests included family from Michigan, along with Mrs. Pamers four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pamer received more than 115 cards from friends and family members as far away as Denmark, California, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Washington. Catherine Anna Pamer was born April 18, 1903 to Peter and Theresa Elm in Hogyez, Hungary. She came to the United States on Sept. 18, 1921, when she was 18 years old and attended South High School in Akron. She married Anthony Pamer on Sept. 26, 1925 and they lived in Akron for 47 years before moving to Portage County. Mr. Pamer died on June 9, 1979. A resident of Portage County for 38 years, Mrs. Pamer is a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Paul Church in Akron and enjoys cooking, crocheting and polka dancing. CATHERINE PAMER
