DECA STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR INTERNATIONAL

DECA students at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent recently participated in the Ohio DECA Career Development Conference in Columbus. The Kent students competed with another 1,200 students from around the state to earn the right to represent their schools at the international DECA conference being held April 25 to 30 in Orlando, Fla. Qualifiers, holding trophies, are, from left, Jenna Wages, second place, learn and earn project; Megan Gatten, second place, public relations project; Alice Mackintosh, second place, entrepreneurship, written; and back, Jackie Moneypenny, first place, business and financial services marketing research; Seairra Sanders, second place, learn and earn project; Brian Piteo, fourth place, free enterprise event; Sarah Rhoades, second place, public relations project; and Porter Hall, first place, business and financial services marketing research. Also qualifying are Erin Odell, first place, entrepreneurship, participating; Amanda Hartman, fourth place, free enterprise event; and Jamie Dick, 7-Up challenge.
