March Against Heroin slated Saturday

Mary Louise Ruehr Published:

Portage County Children Always Resisting Enemies will stage a March Against Heroin and Other Drugs Saturday morning in Ravenna, beginning at the United Church of Jesus Christ, 6589 Terrill St. Participants will line up at 9:30 a.m. and proceed toward the Portage County Courthouse.

The event is being held to bring awareness about the danger of illegal drugs to the community, especially to children. The public is invited to participate.

In addition, training in street ministry, relating to drug addicts and dealing with drug dealers, will be held Friday at the church by evangelist Elder Joseph Wilson of Cleveland. A free spaghetti dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Friday, followed by the training.
