Skeels Seniors host Thanksgiving Luncheon

The annual Skeels Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Luncheon recently was held at the Skeels-Mathews Community Center in Ravenna with 90 people attending. Special guests were members of the Kent United Presbyterian Church. In attendance at the event are, seated from left, Skeels Senior Mary Fowler, and Virginia Anderson of the Kent United Presbyterian Church, and standing, Frank Hairston of the Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority, Skeels Senior Malcolm Blanchard and Ray Anderson of the Kent United Presbyterian Church. PARTA donated turkeys for the event and desserts and food were prepared by seniors and community volunteers. Skeels Senior Deseree Liddell gave a reading and Skeels Senior Herman Counts gave the welcome. The prayer was given by the Rev. Erin Meadows, pastor of the Kent United Presbyterian Church. Participants told what they were thankful for during the program.
