'Divas For a Cure Tour' nets $2,000

Western Reserve Tours recently held its second annual "Divas for a Cure Tour" to raise money for breast cancer research.

On Oct. 15 and 22, the "Divas" departed from Randolph and Stow and proceeded to shop at The Collection Box in Stow, Curiosity Shop & The Purple Peacock in Canfield, Nona's Family Closet & Rak's Nearly New in Girard, and The Encore Shop in Youngstown.

The groups enjoyed lunch on both dates at Piccadilly Parlor in Canfield.

Throughout the day, the shops donated items to be auctioned off on the bus, the Divas donated items to be auctioned, a purse auction was held, and, when all was said and done, $2,000 was raised.

Each of the ladies received a Survivor Bracelet made by Richard Herring of Alabama. He makes the bracelets, sells them for $5, and donates $1 for each bracelet to breast cancer research.

The third annual Divas for a Cure Tour is already in the planning for Oct. 21, 2013. Call Sandy Herring at 330-325-7330 for details.
