Mike Bica is honored for 80th birthday

Mike Bica of Kent was honored recently at a party to celebrate his 80th birthday.

Mike was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Ravenna to the late Michael and Rosemary Bica. He attended Ravenna High School and has lived in Portage County all his 80 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hector.

He and Teresa were married May 4, 1955, and he became a widower upon her death, May 28, 2007.

Their children are Thomas Bica (and Ann Bolek) of Ravenna, Steve (and Lisa) Bica of Ravenna, and Ann (and John) Roush of Hilliard.

Mike is the grandfather of two.

He is the owner of Bica Plumbing and Heating.

Mike attends St. Patrick Church in Kent and enjoys antique car restoration, fishing in Canada, and ATV four-wheeling in West Virginia.

His birthday party was held Nov. 3 at the Italian-American Society in Ravenna. About 100 people were on hand to wish him well. The event was hosted by Norma Dustman and Mike's three children.
