Art on the Porch Show and Sale set Saturday

In honor of her late parents and their art, MaryBette Slusarski, 1102 N. Mantua St. in Kent, will host her first-ever Art on the Porch Show and Sale from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Peter A. Slusarski and M. Elizabeth Fuller were married Dec. 24, 1941, and Mr. Slusarski's birthday was Dec. 25. Both were gifted potters and supported each other and the public at large, in creative art for all ages. Along with four other area couples, Mr. and Mrs. Slusarski established the Akron Designer Craftsmen and the Ohio Designer Craftsmen in the 1960s. Mr. Slusarski was also a teacher of ceramics and design at Kent State University for many years.

Proceeds from Art on the Porch will benefit ongoing renovation of the property on North Mantua Street, with one-tenth being given to local charity. The property is located on the southeast corner of North Mantua and Wolcott Avenue. Park at the first left on Wolcott.

In the spirit of the season, refreshments will be served free of charge, both days. The event is open to the public.
