Edward Krzemienski, a second-grader at East Washington Academy in Eastern Indiana, won a first-place prize for his story, "Jim's Crazy Bus Week," in the national PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest. He is the son of Kent State University alumni Beth and Ed Krzemienski (Beth is also a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent) and the grandson of Joe and Theresa Zurzolo of Kent. Edward wrote and illustrated the story himself, using actual kernels of corn and other materials. Edward's prize was an iPad.
