The Ohio District 13D Gov. John Woodside recently attended the Ravenna Lions Club where he inducted four new members: Lions Jim and Mary Newman, sponsored by Lions Ted and Myndi Martin, and Lions Bud and Mary Lowers, sponsored by Lion Lori Dent.

The Ravenna Lions Club was chartered by the Lions International and sponsored by the Kent Lions Club in 1953.

Each year, the Lions help hundreds who are sight-impaired.

The Lions take pride in helping elementary school students and senior citizens with purchases of glasses. The Lions support Pilot Dogs Inc., and the Leader Dogs Foundation, eye research and diabetes research.

The Ravenna Lions Club meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Caritas Café, 206 W. Main St., Ravenna.

For information about joining the club, call membership chairperson Rick Frederick at 330-678-3981.
