Crestwood PTO hosts Lunch with Santa

Published:

The Crestwood Primary Parent Teacher Organization brought 150 people, 70 of them children, to the Mantua Center School Gymnasium Annex recently for Lunch with Santa.

Lunch was pizza, apples, chips and cookies, with additional donations from Heather Harris, Raised and Glazed Donuts of Bainbridge, and cups and punch from the Mantua McDonald's.

Donors of items for the Chinese auction included Crestwood PTO -- a set of "Wimpy Kid" books; Akron Zoo -- four tickets; Boston Mills Brandywine Tubing -- two tickets; The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame -- two tickets; and Camp Hi Canoe Livery -- a seven-mile canoe trip.

Children lined up to see and have their pictures taken with Santa.

The Crestwood Primary PTO holds a number of fundraisers every year for a variety of projects and activities including iPods for the primary school; T-shirts for field trips; COSI on Wheels (Center of Science and Industry, Columbus) to come to the school in January; and additional supplies for teachers to reduce the amount of money teachers spend out of their own pockets for supplies.

Shannon Sayre was one of the organizers of Lunch with Santa, and Annette Thompson is president of the Crestwood Primary PTO.
