Cub Scout Pack No. 3177 makes donation to Head Start

Published:

Cub Scouts of Pack No. 3177, chartered to Holy Family Parish in Stow, recently donated school supplies to Portage Learning Centers Head Start program during their December Pack meeting held at Holy Family.

There are more than 100 boys in the pack, and they were encouraged to choose the items from a list of various school supplies to donate to the Head Start Program. It reinforced the impact their donation would have on those who would be receiving the items.

The Scouts used this project as part of their Journey to Excellence 2012 certification as a recordable service project.

The supplies donated were valued at close to $1,000 and will be put to use in the classrooms as learning tools for children ages 3 to 5.

For more information about this donation drive or to make a donation of your own, please contact Valerie Fiala, Outreach Coordinator for Portage Learning Centers at 330-297-7795.
