The Garrettsville Area Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the Christmas on Main shop local event.

The drawing took place at the annual Chamber Christmas Social recently held at the Sugar Bush Golf Club.

Scott Walls, Alliance Foods project manager from the Save-A-Lot Store in Garrettsville, did the honors of drawing the winning names.

The first-place winner is Scott Galayde of Garrettsville. He won $500 chamber bucks to be used at participating area businesses.

The poinsettia lottery tree went to Kristen Rhinehart and a $50 gift card to McDonald's went to Johnny Manis.

Christmas on Main generated nearly $350,000 into the local economy in 2012.

The event started on Nov. 2 and ran through Dec. 15.

Congratulations to Shaker Tree, who took first place in the commercial decorating contest also sponsored by the chamber.

Second place went to Art N Flower with One Real Peach taking third.

Garrettsville Mayor Rick Patrick gave a toast to the late Roy Pancost and the late Mayor Craig Moser, two men who were great contributors to the community.

Following the toast, the election of officers for the upcoming year was held. The new chamber officers for 2013 are Ben Coll, president; Barb Beiger and Eva Szasz, co-vice presidents; Michelle Zivoder, secretary; and Erika Frankel, treasurer.
