Nutrition classes offered at Streetsboro library

Free nutrition classes for adults who care for children are being offered for six weeks, beginning Jan. 16, at the Pierce-Streetsboro Branch of the Portage County District Library. Advance registration is requested.

All classes are taught by the Ohio State University Extension Office and will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays on the following dates, with the indicated themes:

Jan. 15: "Get Moving" -- Learn about "My Plate" and physical activity.

Jan. 22: "Plan, Shop, Save" -- Plan for meals that are healthy and within the family budget.

Jan. 29: "Fruits and Veggies."

Feb. 12: "Make Half Your Grains Whole."

Feb. 19: "Build Strong Bones and Go Lean with Protein."

Feb. 26: "Make a Change and Celebrate" -- Limit foods high in fat, sugar, and salt.

All participants will receive class materials and incentives. Participants who attend all six classes will receive a certificate of completion.
