Garrettsville SummerFest plans fundraiser

Published: January 8, 2013 4:00 AM

The Garrettsville SummerFest Committee will kick off its fundraising efforts by hosting a Scotch Doubles bowling event beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday at SkyLanes Bowling Alley in Garrettsville.

The event is open to bowlers and non-bowlers of all ages. The cost for bowlers is $40 per couple and non-bowlers $13 a person and includes three games of bowling, shoes, (for bowlers) door prizes, pizza, draft beer, and soda. There will also be a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle.

The proceeds from the Scotch Doubles event go to fund Garrettsville SummerFest. Each year, the SummerFest Committee donates a portion of the proceeds from the festival to a local charity.

This year, proceeds will go to the Nelson Garrettsville Community Cupboard, which serves families residing in the James A. Garfield District.
