Falcon Academy presents 'Gotta Be Jazz'

Published:

Falcon Academy in Brimfield recently presented its first show of the new year, "Gotta Be Jazz."

The third-grade classes started the production with an introductory song, followed by the newly formed recorder ensemble performing on both soprano and alto recorders.

Those attending then learned of the history and development of jazz from New Orleans up the Mississippi to St. Louis, Chicago and around the world.

Participants found out why original jazzers had names like Dizzy, Satchmo, Lady Day, Jello Roll and Yardbird.
