The Portage County Council of the American Legion Auxiliary held its Christmas meeting at Ravenna Unit No. 331, led by Beverley Guy, council president.

In lieu of a gift exchange, members were asked to bring a gift for a women's shelter. Dozens of gifts were delivered by member Kelly Marsh to the "Adopt a Family" project in Portage County.

The council will hold its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Streetsboro Unit No. 685.

This is a new meeting time. The group will be collecting new or gently used blankets at that meeting. The blankets will be given to needy veterans. The Portage County Council consists of Auxiliary members from Deerfield No. 713, Windham No. 674, Kent No. 496, Ravenna No. 331, Mantua No. 193, and Streetsboro No. 685.
