Groundhog program planned for preschoolers

Kent Parks and Recreation Department will present "Winter Tales for Groundhog Day" from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Old Jail, next to the park office on Middlebury Road in Fred Fuller Park in Kent.

The program is part of the department's Tails and Trails series of free nature explorations for preschoolers,

Kent Park naturalist Cathy Ricks will tell tales of winter's deep sleepers. Puppets and hands-on activities will help preschoolers get ready for the groundhog's prediction.

The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. An adult must accompany the preschooler.
