On Jan. 29, Charles "Al" Brode of Ravenna turned 80 years old. He was born Jan. 29, 1933. A lifelong resident of Ravenna, he married Mary Ann Filomena on Aug. 16, 1958, at the United Church of Christ in Ravenna. This year will mark their 55th wedding anniversary.
Al worked as a carpenter and served in the U.S. Navy.
During the birthday celebration, Al had his picture taken with three generations of Brode men including his son, Doug Brode, and his grandsons, Tyler and Garrett Brode.
