Dinner, open house set at Maplewood

Maplewood Career Center in Ravenna will hold its annual open house and spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the school, 7075 S.R. 88. The event is open to the public.

The spaghetti dinner will include pasta with choice of sauces, salad, bread, dessert and drink for $3.50 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children under 6. The meal will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Self-guided tours will be permitted until 8:30 p.m.

The event is held in conjunction with the school's annual sophomore visitation day, when area high school sophomores are encouraged to visit Maplewood and look into the career technical programs offered.

Parents of sophomores attending the open house will receive free dinners and will have the opportunity to visit labs, meet instructors, and discuss career opportunities with working professionals in the career fields.

Maplewood provides career technical education to high school students from 10 area school districts, offering a wide range of career choices. Maplewood also features an extensive adult education catalog, which includes recreational classes, computer and technical skills, and job training programs.
