Stella Giovangnoli of Kent celebrates her centennial

Published:

Friends and relatives gathered on Jan. 27 for a 100th birthday celebration honoring Stella Giovangnoli.

She and her husband, Cappy, were lifelong Kent residents before he died in 1989.

They have two daughters, Carol Bahr of Stow and Nancy Linden and her husband, Robert, of Rootstown.

She has seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Stella is a member of St. Patrick parish of Kent.

She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, Young at Heart and the Christopher Columbus Society.

Her hobby was in cross-stitching baby quilts for her family and friends. Many of them today are being handed down to the next generation in her memory.

Special guests attending the celebration included her sister, Martha Loos of Kent, and her granddaughter, Tiffany Osterwyk and her husband, Nick, of Westerville.

Stella now resides at Heather Knoll Nursing Home in Munroe Falls. She enjoys hearing from friends and receiving cards.
