Kent school board honors Rae Metz

Published:

The Kent Board of Education presented its Friend of Kent Schools award to Rae Metz, center. Metz volunteered to accompany Holden Elementary School first-graders every day for eight weeks in the fall to the AT&T Classroom of the Future at Kent State University. When first-grade teacher Kim Metz, Rae's daughter-in-law, could not find a parent available, Rae stepped up to help. Metz is flanked by Board of Education President Dr. Marlene Dorsey, left, and Holden Principal Julie Troman.
