The Christmas Box Angel of Hope Children's Memorial in Stow Silver Springs Cemetery was designed and built to help those who have suffered the death of a child. It has been helping bereaved parents and families since 2001.
This memorial has become a place for grieving parents whose children have died, before or after birth, to mourn, heal, and remember their children.
Families and friends wishing to purchase a brick and have it placed at the memorial may continue to do so in memory of a child who died too soon.
This replica of an angel monument was inspired by the book "The Christmas Box" by Richard Paul Evans. There are only two such memorials in Ohio.
More than 500 bricks, all in memory of children, have been placed at the Angel of Hope Memorial.
Bricks will continue to be sold throughout the year at a cost of $100, with placement in the spring and fall.
Bricks may be purchased in memory of any child, regardless of age or where the child was born or lived. Bricks also may be purchased as gifts in memory of a child or children.
Following placement of the bricks, an inspirational ceremony is held to honor the children who have now become a part of the memorial.
Brick order forms are available at the memorial in Silver Springs Cemetery, 5080 Stow Road, by going to the website www.christmasboxangelofhopestowohio.com, or by calling Sara Ruble at 330-689-1089.
Brick orders must be received by Feb. 15 for spring placement.
The brick ceremony will be held in May.
