The Men's Club of the First United Methodist Church of Akron, 263 Mill St., is sponsoring a fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15 and March 1 and 15. There will be fried fish, baked cod, baked chicken breast, potatoes (baked or steak fries), macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, rolls, assorted cakes and a beverage.
The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. University of Akron students with a current ID eat for free. Tickets can be purchased at the church office from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, or at the door. Carry-out orders will be available.
The fish fries support the United Methodist Men's Potato Project for the Haven of Rest. Last year, the group provided 2 1/4 tons of potatoes.
