Lincoln exhibit to open with gala event Feb. 23

A traveling exhibit, entitled "Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War," from the American Library Association, the National Constitution Center and the National Endowment for the Humanities will open at the Aurora Historical Society with a Gala from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 23.

The Gala will begin with a presentation by six Civil War-era re-enactors at 7 p.m. in the Aurora Community Theater.

The official unveiling of the exhibit will also take place followed by an elegant reception complete with heavy appetizers, desserts and drinks.

Advance tickets for the event are $25.

The exhibit will remain at the Aurora Historical Society Museum through April 5 and will be free and open to the public.
