Sheriff Dave Doak speaks to Dustman's Deputies

By Mary Louise Ruehr Published:

Members of Dustman's Deputies re-elected officers for 2013 at their recent meeting.

The officers are Ernie Moravec, president; Steve Georges, vice president; and Valerie Roan, secretary-treasurer.

Portage County Sheriff Dave Doak was the guest speaker, talking about today's law enforcement.

The Dustman's Deputies group was founded by deputies who served under former Portage County Sheriff Ross Dustman in the 1950s and '60s.

The group meets at 9 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at Digger's Bar and Grill, 802 N. Mantua St. (S.R. 43) in Kent. Meetings are open to all current and former law enforcement personnel.

The next meeting will be held Tuesday.
