Sarah French named to 4-H Fashion Board

Ten-year 4-H member Sarah French, daughter of Angela and Darrell French of Kent, has been selected to the 2013 State 4-H Fashion Board.

The State 4-H Fashion Board is the small group of outstanding 4-H teen clothing members selected from across the state to assist in conducting the State Fair 4-H Fashion Revue, 4-H clothing workshop sessions, and other events planned by the 4-H clothing committee, and to promote Ohio 4-H clothing projects and programs.

Each of the 88 counties may nominate one member for each year's Fashion Board.

This year, 16 teens were selected from all across the state who have demonstrated excellence in their 4-H clothing projects to serve the one-year term on the State 4-H Fashion Board.

Sarah has been sewing for five years and is a member of the Edinburg Seambusters sewing 4-H Club.

She is a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville.

Sarah participates in soccer, track, mock trial, Key Club, Ecology Club and is a member of the National Honor Society.

In addition, Sarah raises chickens and lambs in the Portage County Shepherds 4-H Club, where she serves as president.

Previous members of the State 4-H Fashion Board from Portage County include Carl Aeischelman, 1978; Jennifer Fahrny May, 1986; Shannon Gallagher, 2002; Aaron Allen, 2004; and Julia Adkins, 2012.
