Free nutrition classes for adults who care for children are being offered at the Randolph Branch of the Portage County District Library for six weeks, beginning March 6. All classes are taught by the Ohio State University Extension office and will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays on the following dates:
March 6: "Get Moving" -- Learn about "my plate" and physical activity.
March 13: "Plan, Shop, Save" -- Plan for meals that are healthy and within the family budget.
March 20: "Fruits and Veggies."
April 3: "Whole Grains."
April 10: "Build Strong Bones."
April 17: Limit foods high in fat, sugar, and salt.
All participants will receive class materials and incentives. Participants who attend all six classes will receive a certificate of completion. For information and registration, call the library at 330-325-7003.
The library is located at 1639 S.R. 44 and is open from 2 to 7 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The library is closed on Thursdays and Sundays. For more information, visit www.portagelibrary.org.
