Chili Cookoff planned at Deerfield Fire Dept.

The Deerfield Fire Department will host its sixth annual Chili Cook­off March 10 at the Deerfield Town Hall. This fundraiser is open to all community members and fire department/emergency medical service personnel.

Those participating should bring their chili to the town hall at 11:30 a.m. Judging and eating will begin at noon. Winners in multiple categories will be announced at 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the winners. Entry is free.

The menu is chili, condiments, rolls and punch. The cost is $5 per person for all-you-can-eat chili and free for children younger than 5.

There will be a 50/50 raffle pre-sale.

Proceeds from the event go toward supplies and equipment, along with training for the department members.
