The Willyard Elementary School annual Father/Daughter Dance was recently held in the gymnasium of the school in Ravenna. This year's theme was "Masquerade Ball."
The dance attracted a record number of guests this year, with 200 girls -- Willyard Elementary students in grades one through five -- and their fathers or other significant male figure in attendance.
The dance required semi-formal to formal attire, with some of the couples wearing matching corsages and boutonnieres to complete their look.
A professional photographer from Cool Image Photography was set up to capture memories of the evening with posed pictures of the daughters and their dads.
Light refreshments were served throughout the evening, including the themed cake provided by Giant Eagle.
The young ladies enjoyed themselves this year as they made their own unique masks and thumbprint hearts with their "dates."
Disc jockey Harry Dukes kept the couples moving to the beat all night long.
As the festivities came to a close, the girls were given carnations, also provided by Giant Eagle, and beaded necklaces to remember their fun-filled evening.
"The annual event, sponsored by the Willyard Parent Teacher Organization, is an exciting opportunity for lots of fun but, more importantly, to create memories that last a lifetime," said Kim Palmer, dance chairperson.
