Sarah Briggs earns Presidential Scholarship at Mount Union

Sarah Briggs, a 2012 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent, is currently attending the University of Mount Union in Alliance. She has received the Presidential Scholarship, which is a full-tuition scholarship and is only offered to six students each year. She also was on the dean's list for the fall semester.

Briggs is pursuing a degree in elementary education with a minor in music. She is the daughter of Mike and Sue Briggs of Franklin Township. At Mount Union, she is in the honors program, is involved in The Edge Bible study and is a member of Inspirational Voices of Praise gospel choir.

In order to make the dean's list, students must have a grade point average of 3.55 or higher. Briggs had a 4.0.
