Dr. Seuss, author of perennial favorites such as "The Cat in the Hat," "Green Eggs and Ham," and "The Lorax," would have turned 109 this year. To celebrate, the Kent Free Library threw him a party on March 2. Many families joined the celebration by playing games such as the "One Fish, Two Fish Fishing Contest" and "Cat in the Hat Bean Bag Toss." Kids also made and enjoyed snacking on edible Truffula Trees, as Carla Brown and Carter Brown, above, are doing. The event was sponsored by the Kent Kiwanis. At left, Adam Khan and Simon Khan make their own red and blue fish after reading the book "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish."
