Kent Kiwanis supports project for Parks and Rec

Published:

Kent Kiwanis presented a $1,000 check to Kent Parks and Recreation Department as part of its funding needs for an inflatable obstacle course. In recent years, the Parks Department has had to borrow a similar unit to provide a challenging, yet fun activity for children who attend many programs of the Parks Department. The unit measures 33 feet wide by 36 feet long and is a self-contained unit with an expected lifespan of 10 years. The Kiwanis committees involved are, from left, Polly Germer for Young Children Priority One committee; Joanne Maynard of Human & Spiritual Values committee; Greg Lis, president, presenting the check to John Idone, Kent Parks and Recreation director; Denise Craig for Sponsored Youth committee; and Nancy Rice, Recreation supervisor.
