Brimfield food drive to begin on Saturday

Published:

On Saturday, Boy Scout Troop No. 259, the Girl Scouts, Cub Scout Pack No. 3259, 4-H members and the Sunday School kids of Faith United Methodist Church of Brimfield will be distributing bags to local residents to fill with canned goods, non-perishables, and personal health items to be donated to the Brimfield Food Cupboard.

This is the 13th annual Sam DeBartolo Scouting for Food Drive for the Brimfield Community Cupboard.

Sam DeBartolo directed the activities at the Brimfield Community Cupboard with his wife, Hazel, for nearly 30 years until his death in 2010.

Hazel DeBartolo continues to work with the Brimfield Community Cupboard which is open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the basement of Faith United Methodist Church.

The items will be collected on March 23. Monetary donations may be mailed to the church at 1235 Tallmadge Road, Brimfield OH 44240.

On March 23, there will be a shopping cart behind the church under the awning, for those who wish to make a donation and didn't receive a bag.
