Lucia Veon of Mogadore holds senior recital

The Department of Music at Malone University College of Theology, Arts and Sciences in Canton recently presented a senior recital featuring Lucia Veon of Mogadore.

Veon is a senior at Malone University pursuing a bachelor's degree in choral music education. She is studying voice under the direction of Cynthia Wohlschlager and in the past has studied under Rachel Nunez and Tresa Davis.

She is a current member of the Malone University Chorale and participated in the first season of the Malone Opera Theater program, where she performed the role of Susanna from "Le Nozze di Figaro." She is participating in the second season as Maria in "The Sound of Music" and the title character in "Lakme."

She appeared as a soloist for the Stow Symphony Orchestra in the summer of 2008 and 2009 and again in 2012 as soprano soloist in Handel's "Messiah." She has been awarded the J. Walter and Emma Malone Scholarship and the Vocal Music Scholarship and has been on the dean's list for six semesters.
