The Portage County District Library is partnering with Connect Ohio, a nonprofit, public-private partnership whose goal is to extend affordable high-speed Internet service to every Ohio household, to offer free computer training sessions to Portage County residents. The training sessions offered will provide basic Internet training, such as computer basics, an introduction to the Internet, and email basics.

Sessions have been scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon April 29 through May 1 at the Pierce-Streetsboro Branch of the Portage County District Library, 8990 Kirby Lane. Call 330-626-4458 to register or for more information.

For those who complete the six hours of training, there will be a drawing at the end of May for a chance to win a free wireless printer.

There is also a free self-paced curriculum available online at http://eco.connectohio.org. Registration is required in order to create an account. Once the courses have been completed, certificates will be sent to the participant's mailing address.
