The Portage Trail Walkers will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday for a hike at Furnace Run along Buckeye Trail and Daffodil Trail. Furnace Run has flat wooded trails and is slippery if wet. Daffodil Trail is flat and gradually becomes hilly. There should be thousands of daffodils. Facilities are available at Furnace Run.

Furnace Run is 18 miles from Streetsboro. Those wishing to participate can take S.R. 303 west from Streetsboro, through Hudson and Peninsula, past Interstate 271. Turn right (north) on Black Road (just after the ice cream stand on the left). Turn left (west) on Brush Road, continue under Interstate 77, and turn right (north) on S.R. 21 for one-half mile. Turn left (north) onto Townsend at the park sign. Begin the walk past the picnic pavilion across the creek and to the right, looping back to the pavilion, across the creek again, turning to the left, and looping back to the parking lot.
