The Streetsboro Quilt Guild will hold its 31st annual judged quilt show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 4 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at Faith Baptist Church in Streetsboro, at Frost Road and S.R. 43.
The show will feature more than 200 quilts for viewing. This is a popular show, with last year more than 600 people attending. Admission to the show is $5.
The fundraiser quilt this year is called Threads of Friendship made by guild members Robin Waybright, Eva Birch, Susan Zurc, Judy Boyle, Rosemary Hostler, Sallie Stewart, Kim Jasko, Nancy Bowen, Aimee Doershuk, and Joyce Fath.
This quilt won an honorable mention at the National Quilt Association Quilt Show in Columbus this summer. Raffle tickets can be obtained at the show or from any guild member. Several themed gift baskets also will be raffled.
There will be 12 vendors at the quilt show, including quilt shops from Northeastern Ohio, and other needle work-related businesses.
This is an opportunity for area quilters to shop for fabrics, quilting tools, needlework supplies, patterns, and vintage quilts.
The Country Cupboard will offer items hand-crafted by guild members. Examples usually include bags, purses, pin cushions, small quilts, placemats, pot holders, table runners, and many other items.
There will also be a bake sale and free refreshments for attendees.
Anyone can enter a quilt or quilted item in the show. Although this is a judged show, entrants can choose to display quilts, without having them judged.
The entry fee is $3 per item for entries submitted by Tuesday and $6 for entries submitted later. An entry form can be found at http://streetsboroquiltguild.com .
