Free computer classes will be offered from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays in October at the Kent Free Library, 312 W. Main St. Get an orientation to popular Microsoft Office 2010 programs: Microsoft Word on Wednesday, Microsoft Publisher on Oct. 9, and Microsoft Excel on Oct. 16.
Classes offered on Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in October will focus on basic computer skills, such as using the mouse (Oct. 3), opening and closing programs (Oct. 10), and getting on the Internet and finding websites (Oct. 17).
No registration is necessary. Those interested should arrive at the computer lab no more than a half hour before each session for a boarding pass. Space is limited. These classes will be repeated in November.
