Spaghetti dinner to benefit Thorntons

A spaghetti dinner to benefit the Thornton family of Ravenna will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Eagles Club of Ravenna, 812 Cleveland Road.

Sierra Thornton, 15, was killed when the SUV she was driving was struck by a train headed south on the railroad tracks off the 5000 block of South Prospect Street in Ravenna Township.

Her four sisters and father, also in the vehicle, were injured in the crash.

More than 100 prizes donated by local businesses will be raffled.

There will be a bake sale of items donated by local bakers and disc jockey Sandra will be playing favorite music from yesterday and today.

The cost is $5 per person pre-sale and $7 at the door.

  • This was a horrible tragedy.  It will be felt by all for a long time to come.  My friends and I are joining in to help the benefit for a good but a very sad cause.  May everyone be there to support the Thornton family, to help them get through this terrible time both emotionally and financially.  God bless all of them.    Amy
