Guitar lessons offered in Ravenna

The Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department is offering guitar lessons for children 8 years to adult. Registration begins Jan. 1 online or Jan. 2 in person at the office, 530 N. Freedom St., Ravenna.

Students will learn chords, proper form, tuning, music notation and minimum movement principal. Students must provide their own guitar and must also purchase the Melbay Book 1 prior to the start of class (available at Woodsy's in Kent).

Classes are held in the Band Room of Brown Middle School in Ravenna on Tuesdays from Jan. 28 to March 18. The fee is $40 for Ravenna city taxpayers and $45 for all others. The beginners class will meet from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

Register from 8 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:15 p.m. in the office or online at www.ci.ravenna.oh.us.
