Free nutrition and physical activity classes for adults who care for children are being offered at the Pierce-Streetsboro Branch of the Portage County District Library beginning Jan. 14 for eight weeks.
All classes are taught by the Ohio State University Extension and will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays through March 4.
"Healthy Children, Healthy Families" is a series of eight workshops designed for adults who care for children ages 3 to 11 years old that focus on nutrition, physical activity, and parenting practices that help families make healthy changes.
Participants will discover ways to encourage children to eat fewer high-fat and high-sugar foods. Fun activities to try at home will be introduced.
All participants receive class materials and will taste new foods. Participants who attend all of the classes receive a certificate of completion.
Call the library at 330-626-4458 for registration and questions.
