Lewis & Clark musical to be presented Thursday

The Falcon Academy of Creative Arts will present its winter music program at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday at the academy, 1473 Saxe Road in Brimfield.

The fourth and fifth grade choir, under the direction of Laura Goldman, will present "The Adventures of Lewis and Clark." This 45-minute musical is the adaptation of the exploration of Lewis and Clark.

In 1804, the United States, under the leadership of President Thomas Jefferson, commissioned Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to travel, explore and chart the new territories of the Louisiana Purchase.

Lewis and Clark and their companions, York, Charbonneau and Sacajawea, and their dog, Scannon, traveled up the Missouri River, over the Rocky Mountains and down the Columbia River, all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

The show will open with the third-graders singing "Step into the Spotlight."

The 9:30 a.m. performance is open to senior citizens without charge. Admission for adults 18 and older is $5.
