Sean Kelly of Aurora was one of 18 students who helped pack more than 350 "Blizzard Boxes" and 150 backpack meals to help with food insecurity during J-Term at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa.

This three-week term between fall and spring semesters allows students enrolled in the public health course Medical-Legal Partnerships to volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank in Erie.

In addition, students competed in a seven-day donation drive where they collected around 550 pairs of socks, 165 towels, 84 washcloths and 31 hand towels for the transitionally homeless population.
