The United Methodist Church of Kent, 1435 E. Main St., is sponsoring its 18th annual Father-Daughter Valentine Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 15.
Held in Pierson Hall of the church, this "dress-up" affair is for fathers and daughters of all ages and is open to the community.
G-rated music, including contemporary Christian songs, will lead the dancing in a hall decorated in a "Valentine Safari" theme.
There are refreshments, crafts for the young girls, and an opportunity for photographs.
Tickets can be purchased at the church office ahead of time or at the door for $20 per couple, and $5 for each additional daughter.
The event is designed to foster the father-daughter relationship and to provide a standard for a young girl as to how she should be treated in the future when she's out with a "date."
