Mantua Rotary, schools to host chili cook-off

Published:

Rotary Club of Mantua and Crestwood Band Patrons will partner for first-ever "Serve It Up" chili cook-off to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 27 in the decorated Crestwood High School cafeteria.

The proceeds will help the Mantua Rotary Club to fund 2014 scholarships and awards for Crestwood students.

Chili chefs include Rotarians, students, teachers, school staff, and competitive chili cooks who like to showcase their recipes. Jake's Restaurant, Mantua Corners Bar and Grill, and Sherwin Williams are a few local businesses who will be challenging the local chili chefs.

The cost is $6 per person and free for children 6 and under. The Crestwood Band and Choir Concert will be held following the dinner, starting at 7 p.m.

Award winning cornbread, desserts and accoutrements are included with the dinner.

The event includes more than 20 chili entries, a chance to vote for favorite chili and favorite chef costume, and door prizes.

To register a chili, contact Mantua Rotarian Sandy at 440-773-8532.
