A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. April 26 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 6000 New Milford Road in Ravenna, to benefit the family of Mary (Long) Blankenship, who lost her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Jan. 24.

The dinner menu includes spaghetti, salad, roll, drink and dessert. The cost is $10 per person, and free for children 10 and younger.

The event will feature a Chinese auction with the drawing at 7 p.m., a disc jockey, and photography by Kat. Donations may be made at any First Merit Bank under the "Mary Blankenship Memorial Fund."

Proceeds benefit Mary's family, which includes her husband of 20 years, Mike Blankenship, and their two children, Tommy, 18, and Emily, 16, all of Rootstown.

Mary was a 1985 graduate of Field High School and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at Newman Center in Kent. She was employed at Windstream of Hudson for 24 years and would have turned 47 in February.
