Stacy Simera is named Social Worker of the Year

Rootstown resident and Kent therapist Stacy Simera was named 2014 Social Worker of the Year by region 2 of the Ohio chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Simera holds a master's from Case Western Reserve University in University Heights, is an independently licensed clinical social worker, certified substance abuse professional, and provides counseling at Gary Robinson & Associates in Kent.

She was recognized not just for her clinical work but also for her volunteer work.

She serves on the Ohio Adolescent Health Partnership, sits on the executive board of the national nonprofit Start School Later, and is part of the leadership committee for the Ohio NASW Advocacy Group.

She and other award winners will be honored at a dinner later this month.
