Charlie's Challenge benefit is Saturday

A benefit event to help Charlie Smith's Challenge Against ALS will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Highland Square Tavern, 11634 Madison Ave., Cleveland.

The cost is $20 per person, which includes a buffet dinner, music by Colin Dussault, Feighan Brothers, and Madison Crawl, basket raffles, sideboards, 50/50, and door prizes.

Charlie Smith has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The benefit is being held to help Charlie and Jeaneen (campers at Tucaway Lake in Ravenna Township for the past five years) with compiling medical expenses and future care.
